Program pillar

Play For Your Mind

Using games, sports and co-curricular activities to support mental health. We use play as therapy: movement, creativity and culture that help young people heal and connect.

Play For Your Mind makes learning about mental health active, inclusive and fun. Games such as chess, tug of war, snakes and ladders and team relays teach patience, teamwork and stress management, while sport, art and drama give young people new ways to express what they feel.

Our goal

To make mental health awareness enjoyable, interactive and part of everyday life.

Projects

How Play For Your Mind works in practice

Sport for Wellbeing

Football, netball and athletics combined with guided talks on teamwork, resilience and mental health. Art, drama and board games help young people express emotions and build coping skills.

Mental Health Festivals

Festivals that invite young people across the region to share relatable mental health stories and experiences, building awareness and connection among peers.

Youth Voices on Mental Health

Celebrating Uganda's cultural diversity through theatre, poetry and skits that restore hope and encourage peer-to-peer health education, with a focus on helping young people connect and support one another.

How we work

We go to schools, communities and youth groups

Every program combines talk, action and follow-up, so the impact lasts long after our team has left.

  1. Talk

Honest, stigma-free conversations that help young people name what they are feeling and know they are not alone.

  2. Act

Workshops, sport, games, creative arts and practical support that turn awareness into new skills and habits.

  3. Follow up

We return, check in and connect people to further support, so progress continues long after a session ends.
