Silimulalu Initiative Uganda (SIU) is a community-based, youth-led organization committed to promoting mental health, emotional well-being, and reproductive health awareness across Uganda — breaking stigma and empowering people to live happy, confident, and healthy lives.

“ I started SIU because too many young people in Mukono were carrying real pain with nowhere safe to put it down. We're building that safe place, one honest conversation at a time.
What began as a handful of youth-led conversations in Mukono has grown into a movement — one that takes mental health awareness to schools, communities, hospitals, and public spaces most organizations never reach.
To build a society where every individual enjoys sound mental health, makes informed reproductive health decisions, and thrives in an inclusive, supportive environment.
To promote mental and reproductive health awareness through education, advocacy, community engagement, and youth-centered programs that inspire behavioral change and empowerment.
We listen, care, and act with compassion.
Every voice matters, no matter where someone is starting from.
We use creative, culturally relevant ways to engage and educate.
We stay transparent, accountable, and consistent in everything we do.
We partner deliberately, because lasting change is never a solo effort.
Founded by passionate youth in Mukono who recognized the urgent need for mental health awareness and reproductive health education.
Initiated the first community dialogue sessions, breaking the silence and stigma surrounding mental health.
Incorporated menstrual health support and reproductive health education to support vulnerable girls and women.
Continually growing our network and partnering with stakeholders across Mukono and beyond.
Strengthening community-based support systems and expanding outreach to reach over one million people in the next 10 years.
